Speaking engagements are a great way to build your business. After the speaker's profile is a simple tool that you can use to help you get more speaking engagements.
In public speaking, I'm referring to speaking in front of a live audience, or be a guest on a teleseminar, podcast or online radio show or something. And rest assured, there are many organizations in your community who are actively looking for speakers. Your local chamber of commerce or local network groups are great places to start. If you are involved in social media, you can use the links there to find speaking engagements. It seems that there is a lack of places to speak.
to help you book more speaking engagements, I propose to create a speaker profile. This is sometimes called a list. It is simple and short document, which can be used in two ways. First, you can send it to interested parties that request for you to speak at their event. Second, you can create a list of associations, organizations, groups or other events that you would like to talk and send a list to them with a cover letter.
or the way you use it, I find that this document builds instant credibility. Here is a list of things you can include. You May have other categories, depending on your industry, but it will get your creative juices flowing.
Your name: Do not assume you know their name. List it here.
phonetic pronunciation of your name: If you have a crafty name like mine, the provision on how it is pronounced. For example, my speaker profile says this: Lee fur (emphasis on Lee ).

E-mail address:. Yours, not your assistant

...Opening Interview Questions:. provide some questions to guide the conversation the other person in the event that such an interview format
A Final Wrap Up Interview Question: Provides a big issue at the end. This is usually something like this. "As my listeners know more about you and your services?" Or, if you deleted a special deal with the owners, the question might be, "Do something special for our listeners / participants. Can you share with us now ?"
product to sell: Specify the name of your product or service being promoted on a call, or speech. Also include the URL so that the host can view it online. Check with your host before making the offer, because many times organizations or companies have in some way they wanted to deal with a product or service promotions.
Equipment Needed: If you need a projector or white board, or any other equipment, the list here. But always follow up on this to make sure it is ready for you when you arrive.
Speaking Testimonials: Introduce your experience. Provide a few testimonials from previous speaking engagements, or a list of previous speaking engagements. If you do not have any yet, just leave this part off until you do.
This is pretty straight forward, right? You can pull it together in an hour or less. But do not let the simplicity fool you this document. After a list like this will set you apart from others. This will help to increase the number of speaking engagements to get and set the stage for the creation of a truly great experience for you, the host and audience.
Good luck! Keep me posted on your progress. I want to hear about upcoming speaking engagements!
